High relative humidity storage rooms

INTARCON HSH-CDG-4060A is a split system for high relative humidity rooms. An oversized double-flow evaporator and combined temperature/humidity control distinguish this range from ordinary cold-room units. It is intended for positive-temperature applications where excessive product drying is undesirable. Suitability for unpacked products or cheese storage must be assessed against the actual product process.

Practical benefits

• Passive humidity regulation: adjusts evaporator airflow. The stated 60–95 % control range depends on room conditions, product moisture and outside absolute humidity.
• Double-flow distribution: delivers air towards both sides of the room. Maintain unobstructed supply and return paths when planning racks.
• Temperature and humidity display: provides both readings on the remote controller. This range uses air defrost.

Range configuration and selection limits

Passive regulation does not mean the standard unit can actively humidify every room to 95 %. Steam humidification, dehumidification and heating require suitable optional factory kits. State the target humidity, product moisture release and door-opening pattern before selecting the configuration.

Condensing unit location and installation

This model has a centrifugal condensing-unit fan for ducted rejection of warm condenser air. Size the duct against the actual airflow and available fan pressure, not the connection dimensions alone. Provide sufficient make-up air.

The manufacturer specifies a maximum vertical separation of 15 m with the condensing unit above the evaporator, or 6 m with it below. These are elevation limits, not pre-charge pipe lengths. Provide a trapped, sloping condensate drain and follow the installation drawing for refrigerant piping and oil return.

How to size this model

Published capacity points for this factory model: +5 °C. In the specification, compare capacity and estimated room volume at the same room temperature. Cooling capacity is not electrical input. Provide internal room dimensions, insulation, ambient temperature, daily product load and incoming temperature, door-opening frequency and the proposed pipe route. An unpublished operating point must not be substituted by a rating at a different temperature.

Supply covers the factory condensing unit, evaporator and range-specific controls. The cold-room enclosure, site copper pipework and insulation, electrical installation and commissioning are planned separately. Pre-charge for 10 m does not itself mean that pipes or all interconnecting cables are supplied.
