Warranty

Last updated: 28 August 2026.

We want the commercial refrigeration equipment you purchase to operate reliably and for you to know exactly what to do if a fault occurs. If equipment fails during the warranty period because of a manufacturing, material or assembly defect, the fault is handled under the warranty terms below. At the same time, professional refrigeration equipment must be installed, operated and maintained in accordance with the instructions for the specific manufacturer and model.

Warranty periods

Consumers (natural persons purchasing for purposes unrelated to their business) – 2-year statutory legal guarantee.

Business Customers – 12-month (1-year) commercial warranty from the date of delivery / sale unless otherwise stated in writing in the quotation, order confirmation, invoice or warranty document.

The Consumer's two-year legal guarantee is mandatory and cannot be reduced by a shorter manufacturer's or commercial warranty. A commercial warranty is additional and does not remove statutory Consumer rights.

1. What is considered a warranty fault?

The warranty applies to faults caused by defects in manufacture, materials, factory assembly or components, where the equipment has been used for its intended purpose, in suitable environmental conditions and in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Once a warranty claim is confirmed, the defective part is repaired or replaced and the work necessary to remedy the covered defect is carried out under the applicable warranty. Where repair or replacement is objectively impossible, the appropriate remedy is determined in accordance with applicable law and the terms of the specific order and warranty. Consumers retain all statutory rights to free restoration of conformity and other remedies provided by law.

2. What is not a warranty fault?

The warranty covers manufacturing defects. It does not cover failures or damage caused by external circumstances, incorrect use or insufficient maintenance. A fault may be treated as non-warranty where it is established that it was caused or materially contributed to by:

  • intentional, accidental or other mechanical damage, impact, dropping, dents or deformation;
  • broken or mechanically damaged glass, doors, handles, shelves, hinges or other components;
  • transport damage unrelated to a manufacturing defect;
  • incorrect installation, connection or commissioning;
  • incorrect mains parameters, voltage fluctuations or surges, unsuitable earthing or electrical installation;
  • use outside the intended purpose or outside the climate, temperature or humidity limits specified by the manufacturer;
  • operation next to heat sources, in direct sunlight or where air flow from heating, air-conditioning or other equipment disrupts the refrigerator's airflow;
  • blocked air intake / exhaust or internal circulation openings, or failure to provide the clearances required by the manufacturer;
  • a dirty condenser, clogged filters, insufficient periodic maintenance or cleaning;
  • aggressive, abrasive or otherwise unsuitable cleaning chemicals and corrosion caused by chemicals or the environment;
  • overloading shelves or the equipment, or loading products in a way that obstructs air circulation;
  • placing warm products in equipment intended to maintain the temperature of already chilled products;
  • unauthorised changes to factory controller / thermostat parameters;
  • unauthorised repairs, dismantling, modifications or the use of non-original / incompatible parts;
  • normal wear and routine user maintenance.

Important: the fact that a fault occurs within the warranty period does not automatically mean that it is a warranty fault. The cause is assessed from the type of failure, equipment condition, operating environment, manufacturer instructions and, where necessary, technical diagnosis. These exclusions apply to Consumers only to the extent permitted by mandatory consumer protection law.

3. Correct location and operation

Commercial refrigeration equipment is designed for specific operating conditions. Incorrect positioning can increase energy consumption, prevent correct temperature control and shorten the life of the compressor and other components.

  • Install the equipment on a strong, level and horizontal surface.
  • Do not place it next to ovens, radiators, heaters or other heat sources.
  • Avoid direct sunlight.
  • Do not position the equipment where air-conditioning, fans, air curtains or other systems blow directly into it or extract its airflow.
  • Observe the clearances specified in the manual for the particular model. Different products require different ventilation clearances.
  • Never cover the condensing unit, condenser or internal air-circulation openings with boxes, products or other objects.
  • Do not place items on top of the equipment unless the manufacturer has provided a designated load-bearing area.
  • Use the equipment only for its intended purpose and within the temperature / climate range stated by the manufacturer.

4. Correct product loading

Many commercial refrigerators are designed to maintain the temperature of products that are already chilled, rather than to cool hot products rapidly. Before first loading, allow the equipment to reach its operating temperature.

  • Do not place warm or hot products inside unless the specific model is designed to cool them.
  • Distribute products evenly and do not exceed shelf or total load limits.
  • Do not block air intake and discharge openings.
  • Leave enough space for cold air to circulate between products and shelves.
  • Do not overload the refrigerated area or exceed the manufacturer's marked maximum loading line.

5. Regular maintenance and cleaning

Regular maintenance is essential for reliable refrigeration. A dirty condenser reduces heat transfer, increases energy consumption and can lead to compressor overheating and failure.

  • We recommend checking the condenser regularly and cleaning it at least every 2–3 months, and more frequently in dusty, greasy or intensive-use environments. If the manufacturer's instructions require more frequent maintenance, follow those instructions.
  • Disconnect the equipment from the mains before maintenance tasks that are permitted to be carried out by the user.
  • Clean condenser fins carefully with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner without bending them, unless the manufacturer specifies another procedure.
  • Regularly clean the interior, door seals, air grilles and condensate drainage areas.
  • Do not use water jets, sharp objects, chlorine-containing products or other chemicals prohibited by the manufacturer.
  • Periodically check that doors close correctly, seals are intact and ventilation openings remain clean and unobstructed.

For Business Customers, we recommend appointing a responsible employee and recording the dates of key maintenance operations, especially condenser cleaning. This supports reliable operation and helps establish operating history if a fault occurs.

6. What should you check before calling service?

Some service calls are caused by operating conditions rather than a technical defect. Before registering a service request, where it is safe to do so and without dismantling the equipment, check:

  1. Power supply – is the equipment connected, is the main switch on, and has the circuit breaker tripped?
  2. Controller – is the correct temperature set and is an error code shown? Photograph any error code.
  3. Condenser and filter – are they clean and free from dust / grease?
  4. Ventilation – are air intake, exhaust and internal circulation openings clear and are the required clearances around the equipment maintained?
  5. Doors and seals – do the doors close fully and do the seals make proper contact?
  6. Product loading – are products blocking airflow or temperature sensors, is the unit overloaded, or have warm products been loaded?

If you hear unusual hissing, suspect refrigerant leakage or refrigeration-circuit damage, see electrical arcing, smell burning or identify another hazardous condition, do not dismantle the equipment. Switch it off if this can be done safely and contact service.

7. How to register a fault and request service

Fault registration by email: info@saldymosprendimai.lt

General telephone for consultation and fault-registration questions: +370 5 234 5655

Important: telephone consultation is available, but a service call is considered registered only after a written request is received by email. No on-site service visit is arranged without written registration.

Please provide as much information as possible in the email. This may allow the fault to be assessed before travel and helps the technician bring suitable tools or parts.

  • customer / company name;
  • order or invoice number, if available;
  • manufacturer and model;
  • serial number and a photograph of the rating plate;
  • clear description of the fault – what does not work, when it started and whether it is intermittent;
  • controller temperature and any displayed error code;
  • photographs of the equipment, controller and affected area;
  • where possible, a short video showing or recording the problem;
  • exact equipment / service address;
  • site opening hours or a specific time when the technician can access the equipment;
  • name and telephone number of the on-site contact person who can show the equipment and explain the problem.

8. How do we determine whether a fault is covered by warranty?

We first review the information, photographs, error codes and operating circumstances supplied. Where the cause cannot be established remotely, technical diagnosis is carried out on site or, where more appropriate, at the service location. The equipment condition, installation, ventilation, condenser cleanliness, electrical supply, controller settings, operating environment and failed component may all be assessed.

If the failure is confirmed to be caused by a manufacturing, material or assembly defect, it is handled as a warranty claim. If the cause is found to be non-warranty, the customer is informed of the reason and the applicable paid-service rates. Any further paid repair and replacement parts are agreed with the customer.

9. Non-warranty service rates

The rates below apply when diagnosis establishes that a fault is not covered by warranty, and to maintenance, cleaning, adjustment or other work that is not the repair of a warranty defect.

Service labour during normal working hours: EUR 50.00 / hour + VAT.

Call-out in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai or Panevėžys: EUR 40.00 + VAT.

Call-out to other cities and locations: in addition to the call-out fee, travel is charged at EUR 0.60 / km + VAT. Kilometres are calculated one way to the site; the exact mileage and call-out amount are agreed before travel.

Replacement parts and materials: charged according to actual requirements. Parts are quoted and agreed separately with the customer.

If diagnosis identifies additional work or parts that could not reasonably have been anticipated in advance, their scope and price are agreed with the customer before the repair is continued. These non-warranty service rates do not apply to a confirmed warranty fault to the extent that the applicable warranty or mandatory Consumer rights cover the repair costs.

10. Important information about self-repair

In the event of a fault, do not dismantle the refrigeration system, alter factory controller parameters, bypass safety devices, or attempt electrical or refrigeration-circuit repairs without proper authorisation. Unauthorised repairs or modifications can make diagnosis difficult and, where they are found to have caused or contributed to the failure, the resulting fault may not be covered by warranty.

For equipment using flammable refrigerants such as R290 or R600a, refrigeration-system work must be performed by suitably qualified personnel in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable safety requirements.

11. Consumer rights

Consumers benefit from the rights provided by Lithuanian law for non-conforming goods. The Seller is responsible for non-conformity that existed when the goods were delivered and becomes apparent within the statutory two-year period. A Consumer may first request free repair or replacement where the chosen remedy is proportionate; in the circumstances provided by law, a price reduction or termination of the contract may apply.

Commercial warranty terms cannot restrict statutory Consumer rights. If you have a question about warranty coverage or fault registration, contact us at info@saldymosprendimai.lt or +370 5 234 5655.
