Who is the compact SNAIGĖ MEDICAL 130 l refrigerator for?

MD14DC-P301QX2 is a compact medical/pharmaceutical refrigerator designed for medicines and other products requiring storage at +2…+8 °C. Gross capacity is 130 l and net capacity is 100 l. At only 870 mm high, it is well suited to a small pharmacy, treatment room, clinic, dental centre or department that does not need a full-height 385 l cabinet.

The glass door allows staff to check contents without opening the refrigerator. Inside are 2 adjustable shelves plus 2 bottom shelves, with a maximum load of 20 kg per shelf. Fan-assisted cooling improves air distribution, while automatic defrost reduces routine maintenance. The manufacturer also allows two compatible units to be stacked, which is useful when two independently controlled storage zones are needed without using additional floor space.

Why use a medical refrigerator instead of a commercial refrigerator for medicines?

A normal beverage or food-display refrigerator may show a similar temperature, but its main purpose is not controlled pharmaceutical storage. The value of a medical refrigerator is not simply that it “gets cold”; it is the combination of temperature stability, alarms and clearly declared performance. For MD14DC-P301QX2 the manufacturer specifies 0.5 °C temperature fluctuation, a 2.9 °C temperature gradient and approximately 8 minutes recovery after a 1-minute door-opening test.

Laboratory refrigerators may be designed for reagents, samples or other materials and can have different operating requirements. For medicines and pharmaceutical products, choose equipment whose documentation explicitly states a medical/pharmaceutical application and +2…+8 °C storage range.

STANDARD configuration – what do you get?

  • +2…+8 °C storage range with a factory setting of +5 °C.
  • Visual and audible temperature alarm – warns staff about a temperature deviation.
  • Fan-assisted cooling – helps distribute temperature more evenly.
  • Access port for an external probe – useful when using an independent thermometer or data logger.
  • Lockable, self-closing and reversible door.
  • LED lighting, automatic defrost and R600a refrigerant.

The STANDARD model is suitable when you need a dedicated compact pharmaceutical refrigerator but temperature logging and remote monitoring are handled separately by your organisation. It is not a domestic or commercial display refrigerator – its application and operating range are designed around pharmaceutical storage.

What does the MAX PLUS upgrade give you?

The higher-specification 130 l version is MAX PLUS: MD14DD-P301QX2 with glass door and MD14DD-P600QX2 with solid door. MAX PLUS does not change the basic +2…+8 °C storage range. The extra value is a higher level of temperature-data control, history, alarm management and external monitoring integration.

  • Bluetooth and CONTROLLA mobile application. Staff can connect to the controller by phone, review temperature and alarm history, and download temperature reports.
  • Integrated data logging. The manufacturer states that temperature data is recorded every 20 minutes, with up to 6 months of temperature summary data and recent alarm information retained in controller memory. This is useful when you need evidence that storage conditions remained within the required range.
  • RS485 communication. Allows integration into a central monitoring infrastructure where the selected monitoring system supports RS485.
  • Calibration block. Helps with routine temperature verification and calibration procedures.
  • Volt-free alarm contact and external alarm connection. An alarm can be sent to another monitoring system or compatible GSM module.
  • Emergency power supply for the electronic controller and power-failure alarm. The manufacturer states that the controller can remain operational for up to 24 hours after loss of mains power. This does not continue refrigeration, but it keeps monitoring and alarm functions active so a power failure is less likely to go unnoticed.
  • Protection against temperature falling below +2 °C plus a separate safety controller – an additional protective layer for temperature-sensitive medicines.
  • Min./max. temperature information and a persistent alarm indicator help staff recognise that a deviation occurred even if the cabinet temperature later returned to normal.

About DIN 13277: current manufacturer technical documentation describes MAX PLUS temperature and energy performance as meeting DIN 13277 requirements; however, the May 2026 manufacturer price list still marks DIN 13277 certification for this 130 l MAX PLUS line as “certification in progress”. If your procurement documents specifically require a separate DIN 13277 certificate, confirm the current certification status before ordering. If the main requirement is practical functionality such as data logging, Bluetooth access, alarm history and external alarm integration, MAX PLUS still provides a significantly higher control level than STANDARD.

Glass door or solid door?

The base MD14DC-P301QX2 has a glass door, which is useful where staff want to see stock without opening the cabinet. The STANDARD solid-door alternative is MD14DC-P600QX2.

The solid door is not an extra-cost upgrade; it is the less expensive and more energy-efficient alternative. According to the manufacturer, annual energy consumption for the STANDARD glass-door model is about 274 kWh, compared with about 176 kWh for the solid-door version. If visual access to the contents is not necessary, the solid door reduces heat gain and electricity use.

Which configuration should you choose?

  • STANDARD + glass door (MD14DC-P301QX2) – compact all-round solution when visual stock checking is useful.
  • STANDARD + solid door (MD14DC-P600QX2) – when lower energy use matters more than seeing the contents.
  • MAX PLUS + glass door (MD14DD-P301QX2) – when you need Bluetooth data, temperature history, RS485, external alarms and a higher level of control.
  • MAX PLUS + solid door (MD14DD-P600QX2) – the same MAX PLUS monitoring functions combined with the more energy-efficient solid door.
